We sat down with Atif Kazmi, Editor-in-Chief of Por Homme and a member of PROJECT NYC’s Blogger PROJECT, to discuss trends and the direction of men’s style. From camo accents to personalized elements, the menswear blogger briefed us on what he expects to see in 2013 below.

One thing we saw in 2012 was camo going mainstream as it ended up in just about every major retailer. This year, I’m confident the print will evolve a bit and come in a wider range of fabrics with unique twists. I’m also expecting to see hints of camo be slapped on accessories rather than just apparel. Brands will be infusing sport and functional details into more formal pieces and test the boundaries a bit. Leather will also get more shine so don’t be surprised when you see classic men’s pieces like a tweed blazer be offered up with some fine leather detailing. 
Above all else, the new brands that emerge onto the scene in 2013 will look to differentiate themselves by delivering higher quality products that have a personalized element to them as the average menswear customer is becoming more savvy and knowledgeable about the things he’s buying.
